Individual Therapy

Working to tranform suffering into flourishing

I practice a model of individual therapy called AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) which  is a healing-oriented, mind-body, experiential therapy that puts positive neuroplasticity into action.   AEDP is an evidence-supported empirically studied psychotherapy model.  To learn more about this modality you can visit the  AEDP Institute website.

I strive to make the therapeutic relationship a safe place to explore the uncomfortable patterns developed to manage painful or disappointing experiences.  These patterns may have been helpful in the past, but now they often lead to further disappointment, discouragement and pain in present life relationships.

My individual therapy clients are diverse and multi-cultural.  I work with straight, lesbian, gay, transsexual, queer and non-binary clients who bring a range of concerns, including:

  • relationship issues
  • anxiety and depression
  • low self-esteem
  • trauma and post-traumatic stress
  • addiction, codependency and recovery
  • life transitions
  • illness, aging, grief and loss
  • creativity and work-related issues
  • spiritual and existential issues

Because the seeds for healing and self-righting are innate and ever present, AEDP practitioners believe in healing from the get-go, that is, in the very first session and then in every session thereafter.
