in the very first session. My style is authentic and active, helping you to access your own internal resources, gain insight into your experience and shift your sense of self.
I work experientially, with a focus in each present moment on mindful awareness of your body/mind experience. I support you to access emotion in a safe and supportive process, which can lead to transformational shifts in your sense of self.
I am an experienced, warm, compassionate therapist with a background in attachment theory, relational psychotherapy, affective neuroscience, trauma treatment and effective communication.
My practice is multi-cultural and diverse. I acknowledge the impact of cultural and political factors in our lives. The therapeutic relationship provides an experience of respect and mutual engagement that is central to this process of exploration and change.
I work with individual adults and couples (of all sexual orientations and gender identities). I emphasize listening and responding in ways that are carefully attuned to your needs and are attentive to the larger social context in which you are living.
